"Im März 2020, zu Beginn des Ausbruchs des Coronavirus in Ostafrika, brachte der Zivile Friedensdienst der GIZ Uganda eine Gruppe bekannter Künstler*innen aus den ugandischen Subregionen Teso und Karamoja zusammen. Ziel war es, das Bewusstsein für COVID-19 und seine Auswirkungen auf die Gesellschaft zu schärfen. Die Künstler*innen bildeten eine einzigartige Zusammenarbeit, um die lokalen Gemeinschaften für Präventivmaßnahmen zu sensibilisieren und gegen Stigmatisierung und Fehlinformation vorzugehen. Ihre Botschaft: Das Virus kennt keine Rasse, kein Geschlecht und kein Alter. Im Angesicht von Corona sind wir alle gleich - lassen Sie uns also in Frieden sein und diese Pandemie gemeinsam bekämpfen. Der Zivile Friedensdienst der GIZ Uganda konzentriert sich auf landbezogene Konflikte in Teso und Karamoja - zwei Subregionen, die historisch gesehen unter gewaltsamen Konflikten, auch untereinander, leiden. Die Zusammenarbeit ist somit nicht nur ein Meilenstein für die lokale Musikszene - sie illustriert auch auf wunderbare Weise, wie wichtig es in Zeiten wie diesen ist, vereint als Einheit aufzutreten".

"In March 2020, at the beginning of the Corona Virus Outbreak in East Africa, GIZ Civil Peace Service Uganda brought together a group of well known artists from the Ugandan Sub-Regions of Teso and Karamoja. The objective was to raise awareness on COVID-19 and its impacts on the society. The artists formed a first-of-its-kind collaboration to sensitize the local communities on preventive measures and to address stigmatization and misinformation. Their message: The Virus knows no race, gender, or age. In the face of Corona we are all equal – so let’s be in peace and fight this pandemic together. GIZ Civil Peace Service Uganda focuses on land related conflicts in Teso and Karamoja - two subregions historically suffering from violent conflicts, also amongst each other. Thus the collaboration is not only a milestone for the local music scene – but it illustrates beautifully how in times like these it is important to stand united as one."

"En marzo de 2020, cuando empezó el brote del Coronavirus en África Oriental, el Servicio Civil de Paz de GIZ Uganda reunió a un grupo de artistas muy conocidos de las subregiones ugandesas de Teso y Karamoja. El objetivo era crear consciencia sobre COVID-19 y sus impactos en la sociedad. Los artistas formaron una colaboración sin precedentes para sensibilizar a las comunidades locales sobre las medidas preventivas y abordar la estigmatización y la desinformación. Su mensaje: El virus no conoce raza, género o edad. Frente al Coronavirus todos somos iguales, así que estemos en paz y luchemos juntos contra esta pandemia. El Servicio Civil de Paz de GIZ Uganda se centra en los conflictos relacionados con la tierra en Teso y Karamoja - dos subregiones que históricamente han sufrido conflictos violentos, también entre ellas.
